Counties Manukau prop Kaivelata joined the Gallagher Chiefs on a National Development Contract in 2023 which gave him the opportunity to train within the team's environment for the season.
He was also named in the University of Waikato Chiefs U20 squad to compete in the Bunnings Super Rugby U20 competition in 2023.
