Coombes-Fabling played First XV rugby for St John's College at first-five, and was Deputy Head Boy in 2016.
Coombes-Fabling is a speedy winger and was called up to train alongside the NZ Sevens squad in 2021 prior to their Olympic tournament.
He made his Super Rugby debut the following year for the Highlanders and in 2023 was part of the Gallagher Chiefs wider squad, playing four matches for the finalists.
After impressing during the 2023 season, he earned his first full-time Super Rugby contract, signing with the Gallagher Chiefs for 2024.
