Aaron showed real maturity and leadership on and off the field in 2016, and was instrumental in his role as co-captain. His consistent performances earned him the accolade of Coach's Player of the Year. - The Chiefs
Aaron Cruden enters 2017 off the back of an impressive campaign in 2016 coming back from a season ending injury in 2015. Aaron's consistent performances earn him Coach's Player of the Year at the 2016 Chiefs Awards. 

Calm under pressure, the first five-eighth has already earned two Super Rugby titles and was part of the 2011 All Blacks Rugby World Cup victory. He has won the chiefs Player of the Year three times and the 2011 ITM Cup Player of the Year.   He captained the 2009 New Zealand U20 side to a World title and was won the 209 Junior IRB Player of the Year.
