Mils Muliaina returned to play one more year for the club after an overseas stint in Japan. 2012 No 8, Kane Thompson, also returned, adding six additional games to his Chiefs record.
Dave Rennie introduced 12 new recruits to his 2014 squad, including giant Crusaders midfielder Robbie Fruean whose career was sadly disrupted by a serious heart condition.
