Isaac Hutchinson is an outside back who brings pace and versatility to the Gallagher Chiefs. He is comfortable on the wing or at fullback, and has progressed steadily through New Zealand’s age group pathways.
Hutchinson developed his game at St Bede’s College in Christchurch, playing First XV rugby before earning selection for New Zealand Schools in 2021. His rise continued with involvement in a New Zealand development camp in 2023, and he went on to represent New Zealand Under 20s in both 2023 and 2024.
Hutchinson debuted for Canterbury in the NPC in 2024 and was retained in the squad for the 2025 Bunnings NPC. His consistent performances and potential were recognised with selection in the Chiefs squad for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season.
