Tepaea Cook-Savage is a dynamic back who adds speed and versatility to the Gallagher Chiefs backline. He plays primarily at fullback and brings valuable experience.
Cook-Savage attended St Paul’s Collegiate School in Hamilton, captaining the First XV in 2019 and earning selection for the New Zealand Barbarian Schools side that same year. He went on to represent Waikato in the NPC, where his strong performances saw him finish as the province’s top points scorer in 2021, leading to selection for the New Zealand Under 20s.
In December 2022, Cook-Savage was called into the New Zealand Rugby Sevens programme and later signed a two-year contract. He enjoyed significant success on the world stage, winning the Hong Kong Sevens in 2024 and representing New Zealand at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Ahead of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, Cook-Savage departed the Sevens programme and signed with the Chiefs.
